Folks, the latest numbers show Android commanding over 70% of the mobile market in the latest quarter. I must ask the question why we have not seen any Android apps from MarketSmith considering that iOS is in the minority.
From Network World:
Smartphone and tablet buyers snapped up Android products five times more often than they chose Apple iOS devices during the third quarter, according to a new study from Gartner Research.

I like to join skyfreak on that question, I finally make get a smartphone now and I am forced to buy a iphone just to use the market smith app. However I would love to have my universe not restricted by one app...
@All: We are considering an app for the Android but no official
timetable for development and release of the app is available.
The MarketSmith Team
Maybe Marketsmith is busy with top stocks app and Marketsmith HK 33 but an android app would also be very helpful for Marketsmith and fellow investors.
Brand spanking new here and this is my first forum post. I'd like to chime in on this one. Yes please, lets get a MarketSmith app for Android going. I'll be a subscriber soon, but too bad there isn't and app as of yet.
Mobile traffic is greater on iOS than on android and growing at a faster clip. That may be the reason not sure what people with androids do with there phones/tablets, but generally speaking iOS is stronger in that regard. I do think they would increase their growth by serving both platforms.
Agreed....a Marketsmith app for Android would be very helpful and is long overdue.
Yes Same Here. I wanted to get a 4G Tablet in 2011 but had to settle for I PAD 2 because I wanted MarketSmith APP.
It is about time to fire your programmers. They have had almost a full year to develop an app for Android and would not come up with one! Instead of that you establish an alert service any brokerage account has offered for years?Come on. Do serious business and build an Android app. There is lots of Android users in the real world! Just leave your screens and go check...
Hi Marketsmith! It's been exactly one year since you last post on this topic. Any updates?
It does look like marketsmith either does not read our postings or does not care for them? Over a year since Android application was asked for, nothing. Folks have been asking for zoom in feature on charts - nothing.
Hire a programmer on contract for few months if in house people are not capable, both of these requests are more than reasonable, why does it take so long?
There are numerous apps from a variety of companies only available on the Ipad. So, several years ago I bought one. My Ipad has functioned flawlessly for years. It would be nice to have it on both platforms, but this situation is industry wide, not just a Marketsmith challenge. I personally would not use Marketsmith on a phone, too small.
Hello everyone. Like everyone included in this thread I like my android device but also want to use Marketsmith. Here is what i did to find the middle ground on this issue.
I downloaded a FREE product called Team Viewer on both my PC and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. This app allows me to connect to my PC and run Marketsmith or any other pc based application i choose. Team View also supports multiple monitors and systems which gives me complete flexibility and freedom.
Are there any plans to have Marketsmith for Android based systems soon?
hey fxvolres, lets hope not.
Personally, I would luv to see a Mkt Smith app for Android --- charts on Android phones would be more appropriate than on an iPhone, as Android phones r typically bigger and wider than iPhones, lending themselves well to detailed chart viewing -
From today's IBD:
Android's OS makes Q2 gain
Google'sGOOGL Android operating system in Q2 continued to gain market share from Apple's iOS and others in the smartphone business, as it moved into more lower-priced handsets for emerging markets. Android vendors shipped 255.3 mil smartphones in Q2, up 33.3% from the same period last year and accounting for 84.7% of worldwide smartphone shipments, market research firm IDC said. A year ago, Android had a 79.6% market share. Android has nearly doubled its market share from just 3 years ago.
