Good morning!
I was wondering if there was a way for me to use my screens, but have the ability to go back to certain points in history to grab what the screen would have produced?
Many Thanks!
Hi Chris,
If you're looking for price and volume, yes. Merely use the date change function. If you're seeking to understand the industry group ranking and fundamentals were at that point in time, I have not found that feature. I too was seeking that. I was looking at some past winners and wanted to know if at that point in time, what those conditions looked like. Perhaps you'd be good enough to send a note or call MarketSmith to hear if we're missing a feature. MarketSmith, if you're reading this, please respond.

MarketSmith does not currently offer historical backtesting on fundamental data or proprietary ratings. However a copy of your suggestion has been forwarded to our development committee. The feedback that we receive from our members plays a significant role in the planning for future product enhancements.
I strongly agree that there should be a backtesting feature on the screener...Doug
Even if I could just pick dates, run my screens, then pull the tickers to backtest the charts would be a HUGE advantage to me.
MarketSmith is 50x better than DGO, I appreciate the service.
I would just like to add my 2 cents on how much a way to backwards test screens would be beneficial to evaluating a screen.
