Hi all,
Was listening to an interview on Bloomberg the other day. Gil Morales and Chris Kacher are the authors. Here is a brief description of the book which I just purchased off of Amazon.
From the successes and failures of two William O'Neil insiders, Trade Like an O'Neil Disciple: How We Made Over 18,000% in the Stock Market in 7 Years is a detailed look at how to trade using William O'Neil's proven strategies and what it was like working side-by-side with Bill O'Neil. Under various market conditions, the authors document their trades, including the set ups, buy, add, and sell points for their winners. Then, they turn the magnifying glass on themselves to analyze their mistakes, including how much they cost them, how they reacted, and what they learned.
I just finished reading their book. The pocket pivot and gap-ups are great but I liked the inside view and other experience portions best. I'd also say that yesterday's Bloomberg interview was more of a fluff piece. The authors never got a chance to dive into their strategies or experiences.
I agree with "I" ( feels funny typing that ). There are so many ways to "skin a cat" so to say. O'Neils is a proven strategy on how to make money trading stocks. Its been back tested and traded every which way and puts the odds in your favor. Now if you like you can implement a trading method Morales uses out of the book to get in on a proven O'Neil chart pattern for added confidence. Check out my blog on NTAP
What is a pocket pivot?
Go to the Blogs and read the post Pocket Pivot. It explains a bit about a pocket pivots. But you really need to read the book referenced above to really learn about it. Don
