Learn how to resolve this issue.
I'm getting the message ""MarketSmith is currently running in another window..." when trying to "Launch Tool" and I'm asked to sign off the other window. I don't, when attempting to use in a browser, have any other sessions open.
I called MarketSmith recently and they said it was a known issue with the new version of SilverLight.
Is anyone else going through this? Any ideas or have you received any updates about the issue? I've had no follow up from MarketSmith yet. I wrote them again tonight but it is after hours.
I found that I can use my iPad to see my screen results but the iPad app is somewhat limited.
Maybe others are aware of the issue and have a resolution or better work arounds? I've tried to uninstall / reinstall silverlight. It happens in all browsers but I've done the clear cache / reset thing as well.
Regards,
Randall
Yes I've been having this issue ever since the January update. It's very aggravating. A few things I've noticed:
It's really annoying and I've been working with the Marketsmith people for weeks. It's all gone quiet now and I've had no responses from them in about a week. If they are blaming Silverlight, that sounds like they can't figure it out and are throwing up their hands at the situation. That's a bit disappointing.
Thank you for the reply.
I did reboot and was able to get in. So far, I'm able to exit and go back in. (I'm using Google's Chrome browser.)
Now I can't enter text in to the symbol field. That's another issue.
I've been using OS X for years now and have become accustomed to not having to reboot. In this case, my computer had been up 35 days. I almost never reboot it unless a software upgrade, bad weather or extended power outage requires it.
If you think about it, rebooting is NOT really a solution. Not a very good one anyway. I wrote MarketSmith and made sure they understood how I felt about that. I urged them to get away from Microsoft based technology. I know they probably can't (in their minds) do such a thing.
Good luck and please let us know if you discover anything new about this situation.
Yes, this is ridiculous. I have the exact same problems. I called last week and was told an update would be pushed this weekend to fix it, and I just got it again, making this premium service unusable.
@everyone: This issue has been a top priority for our programmers and this morning we released a fix. This error should no longer appear but as always let us know if you are seeing something else.
Best Returns,
The MarketSmith Team
It worked for me just now both on the computer I restarted and the one I didn't. That's new in that normally it would have failed on the one not restarted so something is different and better. Time will tell if it holds. Thank you for the update and your efforts.
There is still the issue of not being able to type in a ticker symbol to change charts. I will start a new thread for that.
@Marketsmith: Thanks for addressing this. It looks like the problem has been resolved for me.
I'm also having the same problem. It is really annoying that you have to restart your computer in the middle of a trading day. Totally unacceptable.
