I just started trying it out tonight.  Good interface, but unbearably slow, as well as the whole site in general.  But I'm not surprised.  Silverlight is terrible.

Our development team has been working very diligently to provide the best investment research experience. With today’s site release we are proud to announce the following upgrades:

  1. Predictive Search – The predictive search symbol field on our charts have been optimized to help you find the stocks, funds, industries or indices you are looking for – even if you only know the first few letters.
  2. Image Maps – Interactive image maps have been made available to assist migrating Daily Graphs users in resuming their current research routine and easily locating the features they rely on.
  3. Data Management – List layout customization and multiple column sorting have been optimized to allow for easier organization of your ideas.
  4. Help Lightboxes – Help content has been added to each tool feature. It is accessible by clicking the “?” icon at the upper right hand corner of each tool feature (chart, list, screener etc) and appears in a lightbox window.
  5. Column Sorting fix in Screen Results– Previously, users were unable to change the sort of data in columns if they were viewing Screen Results with the Screener Panel closed. Please check out this feature and let us know if you have feedback.
  6. Related Information Panel Show and Hide list behavior – The developers have implemented a fix to improve performance for show list buttons throughout the RI Panel features, such as Show Fund Ownership, Show Industry Group Components, etc. Please check out these features and let us know if you have any feedback
  7. Scroll function for List Panel in Safari Browser – An issue has been resolved in the Safari browser where the vertical scroll bar was hidden behind the Safari browser’s resize tab in the lower right corner.
  8. Options Stock Data is now available in the RI Panel – The developers have moved Additional Stock data into Options section of the RI Panel while viewing a stock chart.

How about addressing the speed issue??   For me it is a deal breaker.  Great application but why go back to dial up speeds??

Please keep in mind that MarketSmith is still in its' beta phase and this is not a finalized version.  Performance is a definite priority, however you may notice some slowness on certain features as our developers work to streamline the application.  If you encounter issues with performance at any point, please feel free to email us at reachus@marketsmith.com or you can click on the "Submit a bug" button.  Please be sure to include the time, date, and feature where you noticed the issue.  This will help our developers in pinpointing the source of the issue.  Your feedback is important to us during this beta phase.

its great when you click ( the right mouse button)on the weekly or daily chart to see the volume and price % changes, but the blue lines that appear are too thick and they cover the volume and price bar in a way that you cannot see it. The line needs to be thinner and black as in Dailygraphs. When you list groups by ranking it seems that some groups disapear, what I mean is that the system ranks groups like 1,2,3,5,8,12. I didnt see a way how i can create a screen and just type in or paste the Tickers of the stocks i want to include. What i had to do is type the symbol for each stock then add it to the list... thats a bit of a hastle. Also it will be a key to import Lists from Dailygraphs. Now i have to type in manually all my lists. The charts feel a bit cramped ( I am not sure if thats the word in English). I thought a bigger screen would solve the problem but it didnt. But slowly I am getting used to the look. Another important issue which i ve mentioned before in emails is that it will be great to have an EPS line together with the chart and RS line. And if this product works on the IPAD will be a great! Overall, fantastic, great applications, the info is easy to find and the additional features like you can see the sector, other groups in the sector, etc are amazing.

One more thing, when you go through industry groups and click on the top stocks in group you should be able to click on the ticker and see the chart of the stock.

I agree - Marketsmith site is way too slow. Silverlight is a Microsoft product that doesn't run smoothly on Macs (and I guess I'm own of these "weirdos" who uses a Mac. I find it funny that IBD advertises "Daily Graphs now available on Mac". Wow! How cutting edge - lol. I've been told for the past few years that "IBD does not have enough Mac users to justify the upgrades". Yet, when it comes to following APPLE stock - IBD is first in line to rate it strongly in the top 100. Sort of a contradiction? Very old school and archaic IT.
